“This one’s from our next record…If we ever get around to recording it.” Sadly, the Danny Whitten era lineup of Neil Young & Crazy Horse never followed up the amazing Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere LP. But they tried! I present to you today It Might Have Been, a wholly imaginary version of that lost second album — live stuff, outtakes and tunes that ended up on After the Gold Rush. All in all it adds up to a very different record than Everybody Knows — funkier, more countrified, a bit mellower. But still super classic, trust me.
