Low - Live on Morning Becomes Eclectic, KCRW, Santa Monica, CA, April 11, 1996
Following up that Cat Power post, here’s the band she was opening for, playing live in the studio right around the same era. Another act that’s overcome (a little bit) of its shyness over the years! Here they’re doing those hypnotic, narcotized waltzes that they first became known for, including a super-slow rendition of Joy Division’s “Transmission.” As good as it is, I can’t imagine anyone dance-dance-dancing to it as the chorus demands! Amazingly (to me) the host notes that the opening groups for Low’s show later that night are Butterglory and Idaho. Holy 1990s, Batman!
