“Poor Will & The Jolly Hangman” - Fairport Convention, 1981
Who knew Fairport Convention was playing on television in 1981, much less with Richard and Linda Thompson in tow? Not me. This is a great performance. And I like the way the lighting + cruddy VHS quality makes it look like the band is playing in some special circle of hell reserved for British folk rock greats. Enjoy — some true Doom & Gloom for your Monday morning.
