“Down By The River” - Neil Young & The International Harvesters, Austin City Limits, 1984

DBTR, Nashville-style! Actually, this one is as down ‘n’ dirty as any of the others, maybe just a little funkier. There’s a bootleg from this tour out there (called Down By The River, actually), wherein Neil delivers a long monologue explaining the story behind the song. Short version: It’s about a dude who shot his baby down by the river!
