Eternal Tapestry - A World Out Of Time
Eternal Tapestry’s latest LP is a monster, just blast after blast of awesome instrumental psychedelia. Things get going fast with the opener “When I Was In Your Mind,” as we join the Portland, OR band seemingly in the midst of an appropriately eternal jam, shifting from beautifully layered e-bowed guitars to scuzzy, ‘Sister Ray”-like scrawls. The track stretches out for more than 12 minutes, but it never loses its way — it’s a sprawl, but it’s a focused sprawl. No mean feat! After such a monumental kick-off, one might expect the rest of A World Out Of Time to pale in comparison, but Eternal Tapestry keep the momentum up through the next six tracks, taking the listener on a trippy journey through the cosmos, beyond the infinite. Only with the closing “Sand Into Rain” does the band take things down a notch, offering up Meddle-y slice of acoustic goodness. Recommended without reservation!
