All Life We Work, But Work Is A Bore
As you may have heard, there’s a brand new Yo La Tengo album coming out next week! Always a good thing. ALWAYS. As we anticipate, let’s all listen to this 25 year-old tape of Ira and Georgia playing a ramshackle, slightly out of tune, but ultimately charming acoustic set at Waaghal’s Record Shop in the Netherlands (which still exists!). The youngsters run through covers of longtime YLT faves the Flaming Groovies, the Kinks, and John Cale, alongside more rare renditions of tunes by the Edsels, the Move, and the very strange David Arvedon. It’s a fun recording, kinda like having Georgia and Ira play in your living room. Consider it a continuation of the Sunsquashed Archives series. Enjoy!
